- Litecoin has one of the longest live track records in crypto, which makes it easier to evaluate than newer payment coins.
- The network is still useful for simple transfers when buyers want a coin focused on payments instead of a full app ecosystem.
- Its thesis is easy for beginners to follow: faster, lower-friction value transfers with fewer moving parts than many newer chains.
Cons
- The long-term upside case is narrower because Litecoin is not a major smart-contract, staking, or DeFi network.
- Developer attention and market mindshare are weaker than for Bitcoin and the biggest newer blockchains.
- Some of Litecoin's payments advantage now competes with stablecoins and other low-fee networks.
